Semen Klewer Manggar
The “Semen” motif is one of the traditional batik motif that reflect the influence of Hindu-Buddhism in batik, which are developed during the time of the Kingdom of Mataram, circa 17th century. The motif features plants with prop roots which refers to spring time as a symbol of fertility, prosperity, and the universe. The philosophy behind “Manggar” or coconut shoots is relentless. It is a symbol of perseverance and determination, thus it is hoped that the wearer to achieve success.
